Ybor City. It’s where most people in the Tampa Area go to party. It’s were I lived for 2 years. I have never stayed in one place longer than a year. I had a old shot gun house. It was barbie pink and next to the best neighbors I could ever wish for. It took about 5 months for me to actually give in and move out. I kept saying, “next month”. I had something special there and wasn’t about to give in. I had it made. I didn’t really have to drive when I was home. I could walk to the bodega and post office. My friends owned tattoo shops or worked in the cafes there. Ybor not only housed clubs and bars, but also a movie theater, comedy club, a saturday farmer’s market, and even a couple churches. The mixture of culture, nightlife, and artist really made this place so very special. I’m not going to lie, it wasn’t the best neighborhood. Ybor sits right next to the interstate, the seaport and the ghetto. It was dirty and I loved it. I really miss living there. If I would happen to stay in Tampa or even return here, this is where I would live. Best town in Tampa.
